Notes

1. Memory FRUs and Memory Options include two DIMMs.
2. The Memory Controller is integrated in the Opteron processor.
3. Mixing DDR333/PC2700 and DDR400/PC3200 DIMMs is not supported.

Installation Notes

1. The minimum Opteron requirement is one CPU0 DIMM (not supported by Sun).
2. Single DIMM Sun Fire V20z and V40z configurations are not supported.
   The minimum requirement is one memory option (two DIMMs) in each CPU (including V40z daughterboards).
3. Install memory in pairs, beginning with CPU 0 DIMM 0 and DIMM 1.
4. Two DIMMs of the same memory size, speed, and manufacturer form a pair.
5. CPU 0 and CPU 1 Memory pairs are Bank 0, DIMM 0/DIMM 1 and Bank 1, DIMM 2/DIMM 3 for each CPU.
6. Only CPU 0 DIMMs (Banks 0 and 1 adjacent to CPU 0) are accessible in a single CPU system (CPU 0).
7. Memory is mapped globally and is accessible by either CPU in a dual CPU system.
8. The minimum daughterboard memory requirement is two DIMMs per processor.

Voltage Regulator Module Notes

1. Opteron C0 and CG Stepping CPU Options include Memory Voltage Regulator Module (VRM) 370-6646.
2. Opteron E0 Stepping CPU Options include Memory VRM 370-7747.
3. CPU0 Memory Voltage Regulator Module is required when CPU0 memory is installed.
4. CPU1 Memory Voltage Regulator Module is required when CPU1 memory is installed.
